Cassar again BDS justification 5/12/13

BDS justification

IT was interesting to read the letters criticising the letter John Guy, Abdul Aleem and I had published on Tuesday regarding the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement (4/11).
These letters can be characterised as generalisations with the odd anecdote thrown in. This has been the tenor of the Israel-Palestine debate for the past six decades. It's time for some facts.
Palestinians have been living under an occupation for 65 years; 1.7 million Gazans have been subject to a siege for seven years; and thousands of Palestinian children have been arrested. The Israeli government should not be above criticism for this.
For clarity's sake, it is important to note that the words Israeli government do not mean the Jewish faith.
