Dreyfus gives an insight into his reasoning powers

IN pointing the finger at the opposition's Christopher Pyne for likening the Gillard government to the downfall of Nazi Germany, while excusing his own likening of the opposition to Joseph Goebbels, new Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus provides an insight into his reasoning powers.
Most punters would see the two instances to be similar, yet this eminent lawyer did not bat an eyelid as he painstakingly argued that black was white when he compared Tony Abbott with the Nazi propagandist Goebbels in 2011.
What is it with men and women from a legal background who profess no shame in this type of reasoning as soon as they step into parliament? Is it because they do the same thing in the courts?
The scary thing about it all, as parliament is about to resume for 2013, is the number of former lawyers who now dominate the ranks of all parties.

NEW Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus would have it that because of the Holocaust no one is entitled to refer to films about the downfall of Hitler because the Jewish community would find it "deeply hurtful".
My Jewish friends disagree with Dreyfus. Let's hope he is not playing the Jewish card for political purposes and that he brings stronger non-sectarian reasoning skills to the office of Australia's first law officer.
