Christine Milne, Senator for Tasmania and Leader of the Australian Greens, is one of Australia's most experience and respected environmental and community activists with a career spanning 30 years. After leading the successful campaign to protect farming land and fisheries from the Wesley Vale Pulp Mill, Christine was elected to the Tasmanian parliament in 1989, and became the first woman to lead a political party in Tasmania in 1993. She was elected to the Senate in 2004.
Christine's vision to address climate change and her unparalleled experience with power-sharing minority governments led to the establishment of the Multi-Party Climate Change Committee and its successful negotiations to design the Clean Energy Future package which will place innovation, opportunity and clean energy at the forefront of the transformation of the Australian economy for the 21st century.

Professor Greg Craven, lawyer and academic, commenced as Vice‑Chancellor of Australian Catholic University (ACU) in February 2008.
An expert in public law, Professor Craven has published numerous journal articles and four books, including Conversations with the Constitution (University of New South Wales Press, 2004). A regular contributor to public debate, he is a columnist for the Australian Financial Review.
Professor Craven is Deputy Chairman of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Reform Council. He is Vice-President of the Australian Higher Education Industrial Association (AHEIA) Executive Committee, and Chair of the Universities Australia Standing Committee on the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). Universities Australia is the peak body representing Australian universities.
Prior to his appointment at ACU, Professor Craven served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Planning) at Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia, where he also held the position of Professor of Government and Constitutional Law, having previously served as Executive Director of the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy.
Professor Craven was Foundation Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia, and Reader in Law at the University of Melbourne. He also served as Crown Counsel to the Victorian Government from 1992-95.

Alan Joyce was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Qantas in November 2008 and CEO Designate and to the Qantas Board in July 2008.
He is a Member of the Safety, Health, Environment and Security Committee. Mr Joyce is a Director of a number of controlled and associated entities of the Qantas Group, and a former Director of Orangestar Investment Holdings Pte Limited and Jetstar Pacific Airlines Aviation Joint Stock Company.
He was the CEO of Jetstar from 2003 to 2008. Before that, Mr Joyce spent over 15 years in leadership positions for Qantas, Ansett and Aer Lingus.
At both Qantas and Ansett, he led the Network Planning, Schedules Planning and Network Strategy functions. Prior to that, Mr Joyce spent eight years at Aer Lingus, where he held roles in Sales, Marketing, IT, Network Planning, Operations Research, Revenue Management and Fleet Planning.

Ron Radford has been director of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra since 2005. Before that he was director of the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide from 1991. He has worked in the art museum profession in Victoria, South Australia and Australian Capital Territory for nearly forty years. He has been responsible for the acquisition of more than 25,000 works of art for the various art museums he has worked in and has personally curated nearly sixty exhibitions. He is the author of numerous catalogues and books, most recently Our Country: Federation Landscape 1900 to 1914(2001), Island to Empire: 300 years of British Art 1550–1850 (2005) and Ocean to Outback: Australian Landscape Painting 1850–1950 (2007) and he was co-curator of the blockbuster exhibition and author of the catalogue, Turner to Monet: The Triumph of Landscape painting in the nineteenth century (2008).
He holds a Doctor of Letters from the University of Adelaide and is an Affiliate Professor of that university. He has a Diploma of Art from RMIT University and also honorary doctorates from RMIT University and the University of South Australia.
Ron Radford has served on many national and state boards and committees for over thirty years, including five years as a member of the Australia Council and Chair of its Visual Arts/Craft Board (1997–2002). He was appointed Australian Commissioner for the 1999 Venice Biennale. He was a foundation member of the National Portrait Gallery Board from 1997 and was its Deputy Chair until 2005. He is currently a trustee of the Gordon Darling Foundation, a member of the Australia International Cultural Council and represents Australia and the region at the International Meeting of Directors of world art Museums (The Bizot group).
In 2002 he became a Member of the Order of Australia and in 2009 the French Government awarded him a Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters.
In 2012 he was presented with a Laureate Medal for a lifetime of service to Australian art by the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council.

Jenny Macklin is the Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Minister for Disability Reform.
Included in this event is the presentation of the Yooralla Media Awards.
Jenny was born is Brisbane and attended Primary School in Cohuna and High School in Wangaratta, both towns in Northern Victoria. Jenny also spent a year on exchange in Japan during her secondary school education.
Upon the election of the Rudd Labor Government in 2007, Jenny was appointed the Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
In this role Jenny oversaw the historic apologies to the Stolen Generations and the Forgotten Generation. Jenny was also responsible for the most significant reforms to Australia's pension system in its 100 year history. These reforms delivered pension increases, a new pension supplement, a pension Work Bonus and a new indexation system.
In September 2010 Jenny was re-appointed Minister as part of the Gillard Government and oversaw the implementation of Australia's first National Paid Parental Leave Scheme.
In December 2011 Jenny was appointed the Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Minister for Disability Reform, reflecting Jenny's strong personal commitment to reforming the disability services sector in Australia.
The Yooralla Media Awards recognise reporting across all media that has helped to challenge stereotypes that unfairly define people with disability. They were first held in 2009.
The Presentation of this year’s awards is being held at the National Press Club in Canberra on Wednesday 31st October prior to the National Press Club Address which will be given by the Hon Jenny Macklin MP. Hugh Riminton, Political Editor of Channel 10 will act as MC for the awards presentation and the Yooralla Media Award for Excellence will be presented by the Hon Jenny Macklin MP at the beginning of the Address.
These awards celebrate coverage that accurately, positively and sensitively portrays the achievements of people with disability and the issues they face.
The Yooralla Media Awards attract entries from around Australia in print, broadcast and online media and photojournalism categories.
Some of Australia’s finest journalists form part of the judging panel for these awards, including Alan Howe, Executive Editor of the Herald & Weekly Times; Michelle Grattan, Canberra-based Political Editor of The Age; Ross Stevenson, a member of 3AW’s top-rating breakfast program; and Steve Carey, Director of News for Seven News Melbourne.
They are joined by Dr Rhonda Galbally AO, chair of the National People with Disabilities and Carer Council and former CEO of the Australian Commission for the Future; Fiona Smith, Trustee of the Reichstein Foundation, Governor of the Australian Council of Social Services and Yooralla Board member; and Kirsten Deane, Executive Director of the National Disability and Carer Alliance.
