The Oz 0 select Last Post letters 8/12

If you want to take a stand against militarism ("Academic defends stance on Israel", 7/12), why Israel but not China? A strife of interests masquering as a contest of principles.
D. Solomon, Matraville, NSW
Sydney University's Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies has got to be the oxymoron of the year. If there is a nation that needs peace and its conflict studied, it is Israel. Is the centre boycotting other nations in conflict and seeking peace?
Henry Herzog, St Kilda, Vic
The move by Jake Lynch to ban co-operation with an Israeli academic working to bring Jewish and Arab students together illustrates the Orwellian character of the body he works for -- the so-called Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies.
Ian Andrew, Bardon, Qld
The action of Jake Lynch has shown him to be motivated more by ideology and politics rather than any real desire for peace and harmony between Israel and Palestine.
Jan White, Donvale, Vic

Brian Doherty, Beenleigh, Qld
