Mr. Shapiro asks which rabbi sounds more authentically Jewish. In reality, Rabbi Soloveichik sounds like like an authentically Jewish rabbi from the 1800s and Rabbi Gottlieb sounds like an authentically Jewish rabbi from the 1900s. Mr. Shapiro, who has not been in the modern era very long, appears to be yearning, as Muslim Fundamentalists do, for a much older time. He also asks "What exactly is she talking about? Nobody really knows, since nobody has expressed that [apocalyptic zionist] opinion." Incorrect. It is espoused by Pat Robertson and held by Evangelicals at large.
Gottlieb would be the first in line to help the nazis lead Jews to their death. It is one thing to favor peace over war, but another to be a reckless pacifist bent on destroying Israel. Read more here:

I love watching Liberal Jews tie themselves in knots trying reconcile the left's open Jew hatred with their own continued existance.

Is it now the practice of Judaism to have woman rabbis? I didn't think that was the case. I am saddened by this if it's true. The Jews have had such a long history of dealing effectively with religious doctrine.

I have long maintained on this site that the only Jews who support Obama or espouse liberalism are the highly- educated, open-minded, and good-looking ones.
Rabbi Soloveichik is the real thing. Rabbi Gottlieb is the typical leftist Jew who believes that the Torah has been replaced by the Democratic party's political platform. Any conflict between the Torah and the Democratic party is resolved in favor of the political party, not G-d.

I am not Jewish; I'm a Catholic Jew, so I frankly do not know how to respond to the article.

I'm amazed that you took down the comments I made an hour or so ago. I guess Mr. Horowitz doesn't want any dissenting opinions from your group think, which is unfortunate because this November you're going to have to face reality.
Mr Rothschild, with all due respect for your interest in your Jewish relatives and your research into history - may I gently suggest that you befriend some Jews who follow their faith. I also suggest you attend some synagogue services and meet with a few rabbis. You are spouting history and focusing on divisions. What is Jewish is not found there. There is the spiritual - the Torah, there is am amazing sense of tradition and peoplehood frequently against great adversity . There is music , the foods, the smiling faces of children.....
