Perhaps you may care to have a look at the bizarre things that are going on
at The Oz.
Plainly, demonstrably that arch anti – semite John Lyons is encouraged to
do his worst – by plainly dishonouring your newspaper!
Worse – The Oz is getting into bed with the lamentable ABC – and
Lyons – creating a sickening attack on Israel.
No matter what Lyons demands – he gets: why did C Mitchell cave in?
Strangest methinks is that in spite of all – The Oz plainly does wonderful
work re the BDS. Positively heroic!
I hope you can stop the ABC - 4 Corners / The Oz partnership – it will be
shown within 36 hours.
It is inexplicable

The Australian apologized to the Jewish community and myself on May 8, 2012
for a John Lyons article accusing Israel of being an apartheid state.
It was merely another of his antagonistic attitudes to Israel, demonstrated
in his earlier Cold Justice article in The Australian Magazine 26/11/2011 There
are many more items over the years: Lyons is skilled at using every outrageous
manipulation to demonize the Middle East’s only democracy.
Now we have a defacto repeat of the 2011 Cold Justice item that
was lacerated: the current item comes in a pair and amazingly with collusion of
the ABC.
Look at the headline on Page 3 of The Australian; it plainly contradicts
the main horror on page 15.
But never mind that: it is the scores of repeated distortions and disparate
abominations and seeking quotes from avowed enemies of Israel that gets to
me.
It matters not to Lyons that he takes solace also by wrecking any pretence
at context or even reasonableness. Whether it his agenda of attacking the so –
called settlers who were imprudent to retaliate against murderers, or not
recognizing the generosity of spirit of the most humane army on earth – Lyons is
not ashamed of what he does regularly. Distort.
Even the generosity of the Israeli government in belatedly recognizing JL
as an enemy – and still giving him access, is misrepresented! Shame!
Perhaps most people do not understand the classical tactic of the desperate
media spinner. Make sure that one or two quotes are almost correct. It matters
not that the phrases thus become fraudulent. And thousands of words are needed
to debunk even the key ones. Shorthand responses are susceptible to attack:
Lyons knows this
I verily simply ask: why do the Palestinians plainly teach and encourage
acts of violence?
Intifada 1 and 2 and the nebulous state of conflict with multiple opponents
who collectively and individually have murder of Jews in their
constitutions?
Ultimately you will surely not publish this because for lack of 10,000
words I cannot debunk Lyons.
I challenge Lyons and the ABC to set up a website allowing unlimited
criticism and responsa.
I quote Golda Meir in 1957: there were no Palestinians then, by the way!

publication of an inaccurate and misleading headline on page 13 of The Weekend Australian, "Living under
the cloud of Israel's cruel apartheid"
is a matter of deep regret. The headline was a reference to a contentious view
expressed by a person interviewed in the article, and should not have been read
as a statement of fact. The Australian rejects any comparison between Israel’s democratic, open and secular civil
society and the abhorrent, discriminatory system of government that prevailed
in South Africa until 1994.
The
Australian has a clear policy of distinguishing fact
from opinion, but in this case a poor headline, written against the pressure of
deadlines, has let our readers down. We are conducting a review of our
production process to ensure that such a serious lapse of editorial standards
does not occur again. I will be reminding staff that particular care should be
taken in the use of words that are capable of causing
offence.
I
would like to assure you that The Australian's editorial position towards Israel remains unchanged.
